hi all,

let is say i am running a very short of project of 5 days and there are a lot of tasks to be done and most of the tasks are taken couple of hours.

How can i manage that, because the duration Unit for MS project is Day. How can i time duration based on Hour for tasks?

regards

Hi yamjan,
In order to replace "days with hours", you just need to replace 2 days in duration field with 2h.

Good luck

Yamjan -

To set duration to default to hours, go to Tools, Options & then pick the Schedule tab. There is an option for how Duration is entered. Change it to Hours.

Because you mentioned that you are trying to enter something in the duration field, I'd like to suggest that you use Work the work field instead. The Work field is the actual # of man hours (or Work Effort) that it should take to perform the task. Duration is a span of time. Work effort and resource units determine duration.

Hope this helps -
