Hi. Can somebody please offer any advice on how to manage various release levels of Arcserve preferably from one browser? The majority of our NT servers run Advanced edition 6.61 SP3 but we also have several boxes running older versions i.e. Single Server 6.5, Enterprise Edition 6.0, Workgroup Edition 6.6 etc. Managing these different versions from a 6.61 Manager gave us no problems and we were able to look at the various servers without issue. Recently we've had some new machines come in and had no choice but to install AS2000. This caused us no end of problems as when you try and manage an older version of Arcserve from an Arcserve 2000 browser, it kills the tape engines on the target machines stone dead. We'd just use an Arcserve 6.61 Manager for all our work but they're unable to monitor AS2000 servers at all. We have 60-odd servers and are faced with the task of setting aside 2 PC's, one with a 6.61 manager and 1 with an AS2000 manager, simply to monitor the queues. And if an Op mistakenly looks at the wrong machine from the wrong browser then we're faced with a reboot.
Surely this cant be how it is?
