I have a couple of locations with independent phone systems, all of them Norstar, afaik. At a previous employer, I had a tech show me a piece of software, which I think I had to download from Nortel, that would connect via serial port to a Nortel system and allow me to manage the phones that way. Any idea what the software is called, how I can get it, and if a special cable is required?
My plan is to put a computer at each location and RDP in to manage the systems.
Let me know- Thanks for the help!

You can add an IRAD (or RAD - depending on the size and capability of the Norstar) then use Norstar ICS Remote Tools on a single PC with a modem at your location, to access all your Norstars by dialing them up. You then have a picture of a programmable phone to make your changes with, this looks like what you would use if you were directly programming the system at the site.

Its called Norstar Remote Utilities

Try searching Nortel or Ayaya site, they both have version 10.0 for free.
Latest is 11.0 and required for higher level softwares on KSU.

CICS uses IRAD and is an internal device
Software must have it enabled, if not sure get the SP version number from maitinance and check our FAQ's tab for verions.

MICS uses RAD and is an extranle device.

I agree, just use dialup and not RDP, PC's and cables.
