Hello All,

Have an MSS 3.1. Implemented FTP backups. Each backup creates a new folder and as far as can see no way of telling the MSS to keep 'x' amount of backups.

Do I have to delete older backups from our FTP server so it doesn't fill up over time?

Thanks,

Jim

Yes some customer have a script that will delete the files after x number of days.

What i find that really sucks is the fact that you can't schedule a backup via FTP and a backup to Local DVD. You have to manually switch back and forth if you need both.

Well you want your cake and eat it to. When all you could do was backup to a DVD then everyone wanted a backup to LAN. Why would you want to do both at the same time? You just use the file from the FTP backup and replicate it to a 2nd store for redundancy.

I agree, with FTP backup, DVD is useless. Our FTP server is backed up nightly to tape backup (along with the rest of the data center) making the DVD backup unused.
