managing batches of messages in outlook

I need to go through several large .pst files and search for messages that match certain criteria, subjects or to/from information etc. I can easily search and find these messages in outlook, but outlook will only let me work with them one message at a time. So if my search turns up several hundred message I have to move/print/save them individually. Outlook will not let me shift-click on them or anything like that. The best solution I have found so far is to export to a .csv file, but Outlook will only allow exporting one folder at a time and some of the .pst files have dozens of folders and sub-folders and sub-sub-folders, etc.

Am I missing something with outlook? It seems like such a basic task that I'm finding it hard to believe that outlook cant do it.

Probably only that MS doesn't seem to be in the business of adding feature that people want use, ...






just removing them!

However, whinge over, and I'd suggest creating a 'Rule' that copies or moves the messages that match your criteria to another folder or PST rather than relying on the 'Search'.

thanks, i never thought of rules at all. I'll work around with the rules and see what I can do.
