I've been set a task by our network manager, and with the meagre help tools i have i can't even work out if it's possible.
The goal is this - If a machine on the network recieves a virus, an alert is sent out via email to one of the administrators with details e.g. what virus is doing the infecting and where it came from (computer name or email address). All our servers are running Netshield 4.5 so I recon I can use alert manager, configured by EPO.
Workstations however are on VirusScan 4.51 and I cant see a way doing it.
Can anyone advise?

You'd have to enable centralized alerting in VS 4.51. You'll need to identify one server running NS 4.5 to receive the alerts from VS 4.51. This will in turn send out the appropriate alerts.

BTW, this is mentioned in the product guide for VS 4.51.
