Can I manage the domain active directory groups and users from a windows 2000 professional machine on that domain. How do I set this up?

here's how to do it

start
run
mmc /a
add in the "active directory users and computers" snap in
point it to a DC (and not local pc)

save your MMC somewhere eg as an icon on your desktop

bear in mind that the pc must be a member of the domain you want to administer and the account you are logged in with must have the appropriate rights (eg admin rights) - or use the "run as" option on the icon via a right click and input a user with admin rights etc "Work to live, don't live to work"
