We would love to use the newer Manager tool to configure our two IP403's but there is a big problem with "button programming".

If we set a button as "user" feature then choose a user in v4, the name of the user is put into the switchboard without quotation marks, which means that our v2.1.77 switchboards cannot call the user. The BLF's work (this is on DS20 busy lamp modules) but pressing the button sends us our over the PSTN and the call obviously fails.
Has anyone seen this before and if so, is there a workaround? Every time I send the config from manager v4 the buttons stop working!!

Thanks

Millsey

what happens if you use the right manager (2.1.77)

In the older manager programs, you have to type them in manually so for example you type into the field "BrianM" and it works OK.

In the newer manager, when you select the "User" function for that button, you have to choose from a dropdown (or you can type it into the dropdown with or without quotes). If you load the config, it nust vaildate them and it reverts to the "official" dropdown selection which does not have the quotes (although it shows them WITH quotes in the manager)

Yes it works if I type them in manually, but it removes the quotes if I load the config into "new" manager and them save it back to the switch.

I find it is usually safer to get the end user to program them manually from the 2030 phone associated with the DSS unit.
(it also reduces the number of service calls if the customer is familiar with changing user options themselves!)
