Management Processor Console

hi all,

I have recently changed the ipaddress of the management processor console for the HP rp3440 server. However now i cannot ping that ipaddress.

to change the ipaddress i did a CM->LC and then changed the ip address, subnet mask and gateway ip address.
Then i did a XD to reset the MP console.

The changes seem to be made but i can't ping the new ip address. I am sure that the LAN cable is 100% working fine as i have tried it with other MP consoles.

I was told by HP engineer that sometimes when changing the subnetmask, the MP is not intelligent and does not work.

I am using Revision E.02.29 MP. Is there a newer version;etc.. Can you please advice on what could be the problem?
