Is it possible to make the Citrix Mangement Concole run on a windows XP machine? I've copied the Administration folder to my desktop and installed MS Virtual Machine on here as well.. but when I try and run it I get a "bla bla.. can't find Java Virtual Machine executable message" and it closes.. does anyone know how to do this?

Yes, run the installation from the CD or download the CMC from Citrix and install from there.

If you still get errors, uninstall the JVM, then reinstall the CMC, it will automatically install the proper JVM.

I can't find just the "CMC" from citrix.. i've been looking all morning!

It depends on the version, but from the main Metaframe XP FR2 and FR3 install CDs, you can either run the autorun.exe, select Other tools and Components, Administrative Tools, Citrix Mgmt Console, or explore it cdromdriveletter:\Administration\CMC\CMC.msi.

With just XP and FR1, you have to load the CMC from the regular CD and then apply a FR1 update to it. The install path on the XP CD is cdromdriveletter:\Administration\setup.exe. And the update is on the FR1 CD at cdromdriveletter\administration\cmc\setup.exe

I did exactly what you said and it installed fine..

I'm still getting this message when I try and execute it:

The Citrix Management Console could not be started because the executable for the java virtual machine could not be found.

hhmmm... ???

Of course, since you're running Citrix anyhow, the other way is to publish "C:\Program Files\Citrix\System32\icabar.exe"....

Cheers
