I have a student with this problem. He can't view pictures on his computer.(downloaded or internal). He gets the error: The managed software installer has failed to install the program associated with this file. We have tried various photo ed. programs. tried opening with every program on his computer. All to no avail.

Uninstall, remove, delete, and otherwise get rid of Norton.
Reassociate all pic formats (.gif, .jpg, etc.) with the editor of choice.
BTW, If it's not Norton, then it's another (equally useless) piece of software akin to Cybermedia's installer.
