I recently deployed 5 laptops to remote users. The laptops are domain members (2k3)running xp pro, but the users dont have local or domain admin privlidges. We want to limit their ability to screw up the machines. Anyway, now I have a quandry on how to make changes to their machines that require admin access. They vpn in using ms vpn pptp. I have vnc on their machines, but when I get on their machine using vnc, they still dont have the rights, and how would you access a control panel? If I try to rdp to them, when it logs them off it kills the vpn connection (i see the rdp hack in my future, but cant do that now) and i even opened the print/file sharing in the win firewall, but i cant get a computer management console connection to their machines either. Any suggestions?

you should be able to "run as.." in the control pannel to make changes..

I know that there are tools to run scripts and what-not with run as commands.. I'll try to dig up the links..

i dont think run as came up in cp, but i'll check. thanks for looking for the script links.
