I am running AIX ver 3.2.5. The man pages are on CD-ROM on the server. Uing NFS I have exported this to various users on the network. Those users have mounted the appropriate file and the mount has been successful.

However when I type man ls (for example) the response is "No match found in database for man"

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get this to work!! HELP

Just guessing here, but have you set an appropriate MANPATH variable? eg

MANPATH=<path to your man pages> ; export MANPATH

echo $MANPATH will tell you what it is now, if anything. You can put an appropriate manpath in the users' .profile files in their home directory, so that it is picked up on login.

Also, try to catalogue your man pages using catman -w

As I say, possibly not the answer, but try the above all the same. Hope this helps.
