I recently compiled samba on a SCO openserver 5.05 box. I am having alittle trouble getting the man pages to work.

I copied the man files into sub directories within /usr/man

example

/usr/man/man1
/usr/man/man7
etc ....

I then use the makewhatis command. It however returns an error that I do not understand.

makewhatis: scohelp is not an accessible directory makewhatis: /usr/man/man1: not found
./makewhatis: scohelp/whatis: cannot create
grep: cannot open file scohelp/whatis.* for reading: No such file or directory (error 2)

I seem to be missing something here ?? Any ideas ??
