Mammoth2 on Windows 2003 Server

I have just loaded a Compaq Proliant ML530 with Windows 2003 Server. It was formerly a W2K server.

I have an Adaptec 29160 SCSI card connected to an Exabyte
Mammoth2 drive.

When I try to do a backup, the Mammoth drive wants to constantly clean. It will backup a few Meg, then clean.
Backup a few more Meg, then clean. Eventually, the backup (using CA Brightstor v9) will fail with a Media Error.

Same story when doing a diagnostic test using M2 Monitor.

Mammoth firmware has been upgraded. Adaptec driver has been updated.

Any thoughts?

hi,
you either have clogged up heads on the scanner and need to use a M1 cleaning tape. Or the media you are using is not very good. Or lastly the scanner is faulty and the drive needs serviced.
