I am running NIS Pro 2004

Also runnning:-

SPYFERRET
SPYBOUNCER
NOADWARE
WEBROOT SPYSWEEPER
SPYWARE DOCTOR
WINPATROL

All these are pretty much up to date. When I run them I get no alerts.

However, I also have AOL SPYWARE PROTECTOR which gives an alert of two MAWARE/ADWARE:-

GATOR
VIRTUAL BOUNCER

I delete/block them but they then reappear even if not reconnected to the web.

I have done as Symantec KB article says and run full scan in SAFE MODE but nothing detected.

Any ideas??

Many thanks

I've also added Spyblaster and have Lavasoft Adaware.

The Aol Spyware keeps on detecting these yet the others don't

Help!!!!!!

First off, the traditional disclaimer...
I have no personal experience with the anti-spyware apps you have listed, other than Lavasoft Adaware.

That said, the following are listed as rogue on SpyFerret, SpyBouncer and NoAdaware.

I'd recommend that you read through FAQ760-4866 on this forum, and use the tools recommended within to establish what genuine threats exist. IMHO I'd also uninstall all the apps you've listed unless 100% certain of their pedigree.

I use SpywareBlaster (prevention), Spybot and Adaware (detection and automated removal), Bazooka (detection only)and HijackThis (reporting). Although some of them do overlap, together they provide a widespread of threat detection (note that currently Spybot has a false detection issue relating to SpywareBlaster innoculation for one spyware element at present - the name escapes me but it's detailed in the Spybot user forums).

HTH - Good hunting.

Oops - sorry Bernard, just noticed we're in the NAV forum.
the FAQ I listed above is (of course) in the Virus/Spyware forum.

If you have further issues with spyware please post in that forum to ensure assistance.
