making text curved

I am using the "type text on a path tool" to make some curved text. I am using in Design to make some custome CD labels. My problem is how do I move the text along the path. Lets say I make a circle and select two points to type on. Depending on the amount of text, I want to be able to rotate it or move it left or right so I can center or align it. Can this be done?

Try the direct selection tool (white arrow) at the start of the text.
