Ok, so the company I work for scans the fabric we use in our garments and I would like to take that scanned image and make it a swatch in my swatch library. How do I do this? I can't trace the image, it's not realistic enough. The other thing I've tried is scanning it into photoshop and making it a pattern there, works, but I can't get it into illustrator as a functioning pattern fill. If anyone out there can help?!?

If your just looking to create the shapes - - you can create a clipping path in Photshop. Then you can export the paths to Illustrator. This will create a .ai file that you can open in Illustrator and start editing the file by clicking on the elements and filling with the colors you want. If you need additional info contact me.
