making SPAN for tooltip persistant

If I use SPAN or DIV around an xml element than in HTML the message is shoed for about 5 seconds (on hover) However, it does not seem to performance twice without reloading the page. Is there a way to change this behavior (to persistent showing and being able to get the sreentip more than once)?

Span or div do not appear as tooltips on their own. Browsers should render title attribute of any html element as a tooltip. There are no other rules for tooltips in HTML.

You must be using some kind of script to show this tooltip. If you can find the script and post in the appropriate forum for the script in use (I suppose it will be javascript), then you might get a more useful answer.
