Making Scrolling Text

Hi, this forum has been a great help to me.
Just wondering if someone could please help me with coding and give me an example on how you would make text scroll (with use of scroll bars) in flash MX.
Also would you know how to add buttons within a page which display different pictures/text on the same screen when each button is pressed. For example i want to make a photo gallery using flash and have the user be able to select different pictures using different buttons.
