Making Required Fields in MySQL

Is there a way to make a field required using mysql? So that a user filling in a form cannot submit without having completed certain info?<br>

Check the form fields for values using javascript and don't submit the data if there's something missing.<br>

You can configure a column not to take null values, but make sure your CGI or PHP script reads non-entered fields as NULL instead of &quot;0&quot;.
