making pc webserver

i have set up windows 2000 and also service pack 1 (for windows 2000)to make my pc webserver but i dont have any idea how to publish my default page with windows 2000 please help

If you want to use the Internet Information Server from Microsoft this ships only with Win2K Server. There you can create sites and select a default.htm or index.htm as your website. But there are also a number of freeware Webservers available which will run on Win2K workstation too.

Is this what you wanted to know?

Or do you need a step by step guide about setting up a Webpage with IIS?

Well, since someone asked about IIS, I need a step by step guide on how to created an IIS server on Win2k Advanced Server with SP1. Thanks a lot for any help. The Smart Ant
