Hie to you all.

Need to set up a situation were a user can access the trunks on a 3300 Mxe III MCD 4.2 from his mobile cellphone & make an outgoing call as if he is calling from his office but in actual fact he would be using his cellphone.

I have an idea like this. User calls his office line from cellphone using DDI, there is a short ring & a dial tone is heard on his cellphone ( dial tone is from the 3300 & of his office station), user can now follow his office procedure of making an outgoing call.

Could someone help me with information to achieve this? All suggestions welcome.

Thank you.

External Hotdesking is specifically designed to provide this functionality.

What you are describing is simply DISA.

EHDU takes it a step further. You call a DID and deliver the digits to be dialed and hangup. The system then calls you back and connects the call. As quite a few service plans have free inbound calling, you don't even consume minutes on the cell phone.

can also use the UCA mbile app on android and Iphone to make call using EHDU account

Best method would be as Billz66 says. Use the UCA mobile client ( blackberry, iphone and android cliets ). It has a feature called officelink that allows you to use the cell phone as a set on the MCD. Can even dial internal extensions.

In short you use the app to dial a number, it sends a message that tells the 3300 to dial the number you dialed then your cell number. When you answer the MCD conferences the calls. All you see on your cell bill is whatever you pay for an incoming call. The long distance is through the MCD.

The other options is as kwbMitel suggests. Setup a EHDU with the cell phone. Then setup a DID on the system that you call. You then have to autheticate and you get dial tone and can dial. If you use call recognition the sytems can be set to recognize your cell phone number and you get to skip the manual authentication step ). You can program the DID to simply give you dial tone or can program a DID where you call the number and then drop the call. The MCD will then call you back and you can dial from there.

I use UCA on a blackberry ( and on an Android ) phone and Office link works a treat. Also have tried the call recognition method and works as also, just not as slick.

I guess the final and cheapest way would be to setup a simple DISA.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Thank you all for all your suggestions.kwbMitel's suggestion will work best for me in my part of the world. I hereby call upon kwbMitel to give me detailed info as to how I go about the setup of the EHDU.

I will direct you to the help files.

You will find it in the index listed as External Hot Desking.

The callback feature is listed as a sub heading

Ask where you get stuck.
