I am trying to use a VIA EPIA ME6000 ITX mini-motherboardfor the first time with an ATX supply still mounted in an old Compaq desktop. I am getting power to the ITX as its heat sinks feel warm, but no signals to the display which remains dark. The Windows XP HDD connected to the ITX is from the Compaq desktop.

Any help will be much appreciated.

New???? It has DDR memory, this is at least 15 years old, they stopped making DDR in 2000. I would look very closely at the capacitors. If any are bulging or leaking, they are bad, and regulation of the voltages is shot. You can try to re-cap the board, but if you don't have any experience soldering and removing parts from a multi-layer board, and have a very good temperature controlled soldering station, good luck.

Hi, rclarke250,

Thanks for your good suggestions. This ITX was supposed to be good when I got it from our computer club a few months ago. The 256MB RAM card looks like brand-new. I'll replace it with a known working module and re-test the ITX.
