I am the manager of my son's little league team and I have compiled the whole team's stats all year. It is about the time for All-Star selection so i am going to send my team's stats to the President? Is it possible in Access 97 to make a report which would actually be a letter? I want to have some text at the top and then i want to list each person's name, batting average, & HR total. I then want to have an ending to the letter.

I have been told that this can't be done by a DB tool such as Access 97 and that it could only be done on a more advanced DB System such as Oracle.

If this is possible how can i do this task? The problem i am getting is the reports in Access use a new template for each record and i obviously don't want that. I want to include multiple records on 1 report template.

Fairly easy. Create a report header and footer with your fixed details and put the per player information in the detail band.

If you only want statistical rather than every result, base it on a query to calculate the average for each player rather than the table with all the details in.

You can do it in Access ... you must have talked to an Oracle sales rep.

Unfortunately, your question touches on many aspects including table design and report formatting. Sounds like you have never used the tool before. Try to find someone to get you started or get an Access book for beginners.
