Is there a way to make an InDesign file Read Only? I'm doing some work for a company that is partnering with another company on a project, and they don't want the other company to have access to and edit the files that I need to send to the printer.

If InDesign cannot lock documents, is there a way to export a .pdf that a printer can use, but cannot be edited?

Thanks!

In what way are InDesign's PDF export security settings not working for you? Are you using InDesign 1.x?

When you do the pdf export, click on the Security tab in the export window and then Permissions. Set them accordingly.

Thanks. I'll set those, if the printer can take a .pdf file.

Is the only way to "lock" it to export as a .pdf file, or is there any way for the InDesign file to be locked as well?
