Making Drop-Down Boxes Read-Only in IE and Netscape.

any chance for making my drop down boxes read only on both IE and netscape?

My question focuses directly and only for drop down boxes!!!

I know how to do it with text boxes and the way Im using now is :

If I want a read only simply prints a text box
if i want non-readonly then do it as initially started using drop down box

But to be more accurate (if possible) i prefer to use only drop down boxes and change their properties from Read-Only to non-read only.

I dont know if there is a way of doing that but please if yes can you provide me with any solution?????
