Does any one of a utility that I can run that would make DOS more unix like.

I hate the DIR command, I would prefer to us ls

Any ideas

Otherwise you can always use the doskey command to map ls to dir. Put it in your autoexec.bat.

I had a distribution called CYGWIN, it was a unix shell for windows and contained gcc, bison, flex, bash and all those small tools like ls. you can find it under give it a try! regards

From the old times....

If you only whant to add a few commands "Unix like"

Remember that doskey.exe can "alias to a Macro!"

Do a "help doskey" in your DOS Prompt.
