I am trying to get DIDs to work on a 2800. I have a T1 coming in with the carrier sending me 4 digits. The four digit extensions are the same numbers as the DID numbers. When I call in to system I get no ringing but only a second dial tone. I can dial the last four digits and get through to the right phone.

The trick is how do I get the 2800 to recognize what was outpulsed from the carrier and go straight to the extension. I tried dial-peer, extension-length, everything on the Cisco site that should have made this work.

What steps am I missing? I can lok up the commands, but I can't find anywhere on the site that tells me IF I have all the right commands in.

Thanks,

H323 I assume since you mentioned dial-peers?
It should look something like this:
dial-peer voice 1401 voip
preference 1
destination-pattern xxxx (where xxxx is your 4 digit DID pattern)
progress_ind setup enable 3
progress_ind progress enable 8
session target ipv4:x.x.x.x (ip address of where you are pointing the DID's ie phone system)
dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric
fax rate disable

give that a shot.
