Hi ,
One of the items on my agenda is that i have to find a way to migrate data from an MS access database to Oracle 8i database.
I am sure that this is possible , but am not know how to do this.
Actually , this needs to be done on a dynamic basis also : For eg : i want data that i have stored in MPP to populate into my Oracle database when i click a button.
Is this possible ?
I request anyone who has worked on similar applications before to kindly guide me regarding the same. Regards,
S. Jayaram Uparna .

If the need arises, you are welcome to mail me at oracguru@yahoo.com .I would be glad to help you out.
:)

You could make use or Heteregenous Services available in ORacle 8i.

Heterogeneous Services enables you to:

a.) Use ORACLE SQL to transparently access data stored in non-ORACLE systems as if the data resides within an Oracle Server.

b.) Use Oracle Procedure calls to transparently access non-Oracle systems, services, or application programming interfaces (APIs), from your Oracle distributed system.

Check out this link.

Have you got thru converting Access tables to Oracle 8.x tables - I am in that phase now with my database.

If you could help me out that will be great.

the last time i converted access to oracle database, i used oracle migration workbench, comes with your 8.x cd.
i have also done it with a third party tool - erwin via reverse engineering.
both are very intuitive.

just link your oracle table in your Access database through an ODBC connection, then you can treat it basically like any other access table, build your form in access, put your button on it with the access vb script to do what you want and youre done...
