Hi.
OS is WIn2003

I am trying to make a security group a member of another security group.
In Windows 2000 this worked fine. In Windows 2003 I don't have the option to add a group to another group. I can add a user to a group but if I try to add a group to a group... well the groups aren't displayed.
Distribution groups can be added to other distribution groups fine.
But it's security groups that I can't add to other security groups.

Is this an 'improvement?' in W2k3

It matters as to what type of security group it is. Universal and Global security groups can be nested inside other groups, local groups cannot.

Take a look at the box where you are trying to add the group. verify that it does nto just say Users, but also says Groups for the account types. You may just ned to check the box for groups.

I hope you find this post helpful. Please let me know if it was.

Regards,

Mark
