I would like to use FrontPage to make a web page with a submit button - so that a registration form could be filled out and then e-mailed to me. The web page I want to put the form on is going to be at this URL: - or htm or asp if necessary. Can I use a registration handler page to do this? I have a basic FrontPage instruction book, but I need more details about how to design a form that can be e-mailed. -- I want to make the form have several fillable boxes -- then when the page is filled in I want the user to be able to click on submit - and that sends the form to me by e-mail. Sorry if this is kind of basic, but this is one area I haven't had any FrontPage training in. Thanks for any help!

Hi ag5t,

Keep the html extension, as the FrontPage form handler won't operate with the ASP extensions by itself.

I have basic FP form tutorials on my site. You might want to take a look at the custom form tute...

Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal

Thanks. I am looking at the material. I did try to see if I could publish a web to and FrontPage says I cannot because that site does not have the FrontPage extensions. I have some web pages on other sites. Can I install these extensions or does it have to been done by the sysop only? I have also heard about cgi and something called bravenet.com. If there is a way I can do this without the front page extensions that would be nice or if I can install them - could I install them on my pages only or would it have to be the entire server? Thanks.

Hi Marty,

I myself am a diehard FrontPage user.

If you continue to build with FrontPage, I highly recommend hosting where the extensions are available. You can get good FP hosting for as little as $4.95 per month.

You can also get free FP hosting from This might be an option for just your form for the interim. You could build a simple web, where your index page is your form page. Create a custom confirmation page with a close button and have the form page open in a new window. As soon as they close the confirmation page, they are back at your site.

As to Cgi, I have never used it. It is quite common and many hosts have built in Cgi scripts.

As to the extensions, many hosts have them available, but you may need to turn them on in your site control panel.
As to installation, this is done at the server level.

Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal
