making a purple metallic look

Does anyone have a good tutorial to make a good purple metallic look. I need to do a flash page and I want the navigation bar to have a nice shiny purple metallic look. Thanks. The secret in education lies in respecting the student. {Ralph Waldo Emerson}.

I haven't tryed this, but here we go:
Go find a nice metal texture at

http://www.frenchtextures.com

and place it in one layer.
Make a new layer that contains a solid colour of purple.
Change the layer from Normal to color Dodge.
