I would like to make a progress bar that has the Percentage positioned on the front of the bar, and as the bar grows horizontally from left to right, the percentage stays right with the front of the bar... example:

____
30%
__________
50%

_______________________
100%

I dont know how to go about making a progress bar in general, let alone one that moves the percentage with it.

Can someone give me the code, and tell me where to put it?? Thx

as promised..

when you test the movie, do show streaming so you can see what it will do on a web page, because if you just test the movie, it loads everything and then starts playing so you miss the status bar..
if you need anything else like this, let me know =)

i hope this helps..

Thanks Jeff.

Was that helpful at all? I had to fill 3000 frames of fills so that it would load slow enough to see it work.

He means while testing this preloader bar in the Flash application itself, under View set Show Streaming, to simulate what will happen on a first download on the web. Otherwise, since the file is already on your machine, you won't see the preloader or the bar in action! Under Debug, you can also change what modem speed you want to test, 28 or 56kbs.

I usually test preload sequences by dropping in a big jpeg in the first frame... it works great! Ya' Gotta Love It!

I was going to do that but used _framesloaded/_frames total (dont ask me why - i just threw this together in a few minutes) so it would say 0% forever and then jump to 100%.. If i had taken my time and done getBytesLoaded I could have done the jpg.

That has helped IMMENSELY NUKOI.

I have one more thing i really need. I need to be able to scroll buttons , jus tlike setting up a text scroller but i need to scroll buttons.

good example is 2advanced.com in the exploratory, portfolio sections.

Thx bud

Alright... you 2! We'll have none of that in here!;-) Ya' Gotta Love It!
