I have a customer with a BCM 400, and he is running EVERY application (desktop messaging, IP phones, Express messaging, softphones, the new cordless etc, etc)...Everything! So of course he has employees who work from home and do not have a phone on site (or anywhere else). This customer wants to assign each of these people a DID and a mailbox and when their DID rings, the voicemail answers. In the Norstar days, we would stash a phone in the phone room for each of these people. I dont have that option here, currently, all I get is ring no answer. Can I make this happen with BCM 3.7?

you can do this. You want to set up the mailbox and at the bottom you will see the option express messaging. You need to put the target line number in there. Then under the target line programming set the following in general settings. If busy
go to prime and set the prime DN to be the voicemail.

Example

Target Line 400 Public number 88888888

Call pilot

Mailbox 221 under the setting express messaging put target line 400.

BCM
Under the general settings tab for target line 400. At the prompt if busy set to prime. Set the prime DN to be 471 (voicemail DN).

The call will dial 88888888 and go straight to the voicemail box.

Hope this makes sense

Marshall
