I have a database used in a medical practice. I am interested in importing data from other medical entities. In the medical world, every system has to be "HL7" compliant to adequately communicate. How can I get my FM 8.5 database into this type of compliance? Is there translation software or is it compliant naturally? Thanks.

Rick

Not exactly.

You have to use the FileMaker native security system to make your application full HL7 compliant.

The interconnectivity with other clinical systems can be build into your FM interface.

It is up to you, as developer, to make the application HL7 or HIPAA compliant.
