I have an nt machine, i want to reformat with an xp cd. the bios does not give me a choice of booting from the cd rom. I cant seem to find a place to make a disk to do what i want to do.

Did you try hitting F12 at the BIOS splash screen? For machines using the earlier PM method of advanced power management it should offer you a menu for a temporary boot device.

You can create a set of 6 floppys to start XP setup from here (choice of Home/Pro and SP1 or not - all links to M$). But - if your mobo/bios really doesn't support booting from CD - is the machine up to XP? (if you put XP install cd in CD/DVD rom while running NT, it will autostart, and give you some options - one of which is 'compatibility').
