Making a bookmark

Forgive me, because I know that this must be a pathetically easy question for may.
For my website, I want to create an icon that when the user clicks on it, bookmarks the website. I want to make sure that, if possible, it works in all browsers.
I would like to put in HTML code.

Do a search on Google for "favicon.ico".

Almost any of the resulting pages will take you through the information you need.

There is no uniform way to make a page a bookmark since there is no HTML command or tag to do that and you are left with browser specific commands. This website has JS for IE:
