Hey guys, this is my first time posting here!

I need to make a pamphlet using a landscape 11x8.5in paper that folds into thirds. How do I set up this type of document? Do I create guides that split the document into thirds? Also, when I print it, is there anything I can do to make the folding easier?

thanks for everyone's time!

It would be best to do it on a single page and create guides.

I find the best way is to Layout>Create Guides.

Select Page instead of margins, 3 columns 0 gutter. That will divide the page exactly in 3 and that's where the fold will occur.

Depending on the thickness of the paper, and if you're folding inside (rather than concertina-fashion), you might want to adjust the folds slightly so the inside page is a little smaller than the others so it doesn't bulge.

like doug said its better to adjust the folds . . . i use panel dimensions of 3.7 - 3.7 - 3.6 inches - don't forget to turn it around on the back side since the paper flips over - the 3.6 panel is the one that folds to the inside . . . this makes the bindery workers love you

dabob

The person who says it cannot be done
should not interrupt the person doing it. . . .

Usually, if not printing by yourself, but by an external printer, they shave off a mm on one side so it doesn't bulge.
