Make Windows Media Player the default 1

I am trying to make the Windows Media Player thd default on my Window XP Professional. It used to be, but somehow my downloads try to go to other download media. Thanks for any help. Have a great day.

Start > Set Program Access and Defaults. Double click on Custom. For "Choose a default media player"... choose WMP.
