Make site available online

Hi,

I am wondering how you make your sharepoint site online. i am having some trouble seeing it. If I create a new site in IIS and point the folder directory to my website on teh disk drive, change the port to 80 and the IP to the server I can see this site when I type in the WAN IP in a browser oursite my LAN I can see the webpage. However, if I create a new web application, and then create a site collection within that and make the same changes to the IP and the port within IIS I cant see the site? Am I missing something?

Have you looked in to Alternate Access Mapping yet?

thanks, that works.

though when I open the pade now it asks me to log in. how do I set it up so you dont need to log in to see the page.

sounds like you want to turn on anonymous access. you should be able to find information on that with a google search.
