I have a mySQL based website with php and cgi. I want a small php script to run every day at 04.00hrs. I have asked this question in the PHP forum and the suggestions were "use crom" - unfortunately crom is not supported by my host, so I was wondering if cgi could help?
Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm afraid so - they did offer to do it manually for $6.00/yr though!

Depending on permissions required, a cron job, or an AT scheduled task could launch a http request from another machine which would kick off the script at the desired time.

Introduces another few points of failure though, Machine, Network stability etc etc

For $6/yr, I'd say that's money well spent
