Hello,

Can anyone tell me how to make the Number lock key be on at startup by default?

Thanks in advance,
AJB.

Probably in your bios setup. Additional settings. Setting should be numlock on bootup.

Thanks for the tip Ed. Worked a treat!

AJB.

1. FIND AN EXECUTABLE CALLED 'LOCKKEYS.COM' AND LOCATE CONVENIENTLY (E.G., C:\)

2. BUILD AN AUTOEXEC.BAT FILE AND INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

C:\LOCKKEYS CAPS:ON NUM:ON

3. REBOOT AND VOILA'... IT WORKS...

4. YOU CAN USE LOCKKEYS FOR LOTS OF GOOD THINGS, TO LEARN JUST
ENTER (IN DOS AFTER YOU HAVE ACQUIRED THE EXECUTABLE)
LOCKKEYS /?

YOU WILL BE TREATED TO A PLETHORA OF GOOD OPTIONS..

add this line to your config.sys file:
numlock=on

how do I make it so my num lock key is OFF at startup? Running Windows 98 and num lock key comes up ON after startup.
thanks in advance...tibbs

Same advice. Get into the bios. Advanced settings. Numlock on bootup=off. Ed Fair
