Hello again!!!

Is there a fool-proof combo of settings that will make the movie automatically size itself to fit the monitor it's being viewed on?
I tried setting my "Publish" settings a number of different ways, and I end up with either the top & sides of my movie being cut off by my 15" screen, or, with other settings, my friend with his 21" screen (I'm so jealous!) sees the whole movie, but with lots of white space all around it.
Help help? X-)

This is normal unless you want to create a separate movie for each resolution. It has to resize proportionately as opposed to stretching to match AvailableWidth and AvailableHeighth. This does create some white space and margins at times.

I usually use a movie 760x420 which matches a 800x600 screen almost exactly with no white space or margins and takes into consideration the browser toolbars and address bar. Ya' Gotta Love It!

I used to get the white bits, but all I do now is make my first layer have a box on it. So...for example, if I normally set the movie properties as a blue background, I just drag a massive blue box (about twice the size of the stage), and this gets rid of the white bits at the side.

Hope this helps.

are you using fscommand ("fullscreen", "true");

Thanks all!
Kirderf - I haven't gotten into much ASP yet... still a newbie really - where would I apply fscommand? That seems like a useful command to know... :)

Goto your first frame and apply the FScommand action. You can find it inside the "basic actions" list, just scroll down.

If you are working in the normal mode you can go to the bottom of the actions screen and get the command automaticly by choosing from the "commands for stand alone player" pull-down menu.

You may play with the allowscale action as well. This allows your movie to scale to fit the view area.

Each of these commands has its setbacks as well, like causing bitmaps to be larger and grainy if scaled up...or porportion problems...etc...
Play with-em and have fun! I'd gladly pay you on Thursday
