Make linked tables read only

I have a main database which contains tables that staff use to read and write information.

I have a secondary database that links to some tables from the main database. Staff who use this database are only allowed 'read only' access. I have 'locked' down the secondary database by making forms open as read only etc, but is it possible to make the linked tables 'read only' just for the secondary database? (ie can the link be set as read only?)

How are the tables linked? If you relink when the db is opened take a look at .Connect and TableDefs in help.
