Make Icon color transparent

I just started using FP 2002. In the past with FP 98, 2000, I could make a color transparent so my background would show instead of a white box around the icon.

So far I can't figure out how to do this with 2002, any ideas?

Make sure it is a gif image, if not change it.

Use a program such as photo editor or image composer to open the file, save as gif. Then make transparent and insert into the web page.
