Hi all,

I have a VB script that sends out 600 - 700 emails. The body of the email has a hyperlinked contact name.

The message says not to reply to sender but to write to contact name.

It never fails recipients reply to message instead of using contact link.

Is it possible to make an email impossible to reply to.

No, but it is possible to change the From so that - if there is a reply, it goes to that address.
If your sending mail in VB, then you should just have to redefine the From address, and in Notes it will reply to that address.

Hi pmonett.

I can't use that solution for my actual process (must be "unreplyable" or else, status quo) but I'll definately keep it in mind for future projects.

Thanks a bunch.

Mike

Hello!

I'm a little sketchy on this, I'm just getting back to Notes after a long absence, but isn't there a way you can create a new "Memo" form, without the reply functionality, and send the form as part of the email? I know there's a way to do it, I can't remember the specifics, sorry!

Yes there is. You can specify an option on the form that indicates to save the design with the mail - it is an option available on every form design.
There are only two issues I see for that option :

First, it's a Notes design option, so I don't think sending mail via VB allows for that.
Second, even if you do make it work via VB (or Notes even), you are still at the mercy of a small db property that states "allow use of stored forms in this database". If it unchecked, your option will not work.

And I know that I always uncheck it on my mail file. Don't want to risk anybody sending me a mail and running God knows what code without my consent, now do I ?
Nope.

Pascal.

Can't you programatically select the Prevent Copying option in the Delivery Options of the email?

Leslie

Prevent Copy does not prevent replying, does it ?
Never noticed. I'll have to try.

Pascal.

your right it doesn't prevent replying, it just doesn't allow you to reply with history!

my bad!

how are you? haven't chatted in a while! we'll have to catch up soon,

ciao!
