Make a clickable banner

I'm pretty new to Flash - have done just a couple of small things. Now I need to create a clickable banner. Two images and a lot of text that fades in and out. How do I make the entire banner clickable without making a bunch a graphic images of the text?

Place an invisible button over everything in the top layer of your flash movie..

IE: an invisible button would be a shape the size of the banner in the hit stage of the buttons timeline..No up and over states are required..
