Morning, I am running XP and 2000 on the same machine and each on it's own drive.
My question is why is it on 2000 I see download speeds of about 740-768k
On XP however I can not get passed 300k using the same test sights. Has anyone ever run into this before and if so what were you all able to do to correct it. I have tried several patches and have also removed and re-installed the NIC card as well. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am trying to use XP for my primarty but 2000 seems to be working faster.
My connection is by way of a netgear gateway router/switch. I have no other machines on the network but the one. Same cable is used same NIC is used. I have no problems at all with 2k just the XP. If any one can help please do!!!!!!

yes I have the current driver issue date is 3/7/03.
Everything else seems to go fine.

I have tried that, I notice a major delay when I go to launch to a web site, or even when I open the browser. I just ran the same test on a LAPTOP with the same OS on it, the results match the W2K system.

Run several tests from the same server on both OS.

Two things to check though, as you may have made these changes in W2K and forgot about them:

1. If you have a DSL/PPoE connection, set the MTU in XP to 1492 and not the default of 1500;

2. You may have adjusted the RWIN value in W2K. (Default for W2K & XP is 17520. In any case try doubling it in your XP setting.

To modify TCP/IP parameters use Dr.Tcp:
