Hi all, i have a big problem that is really confusing me. and i need help. I have created a large website, for a downline builder which keeps track of all sorts of info to do wiht a downline system....

HOWEVER

here is the good bit (LOL)

when i start the site, everything goes fine for about 5 hours, then people start recieving this error

Provider error '80004005'

Unspecified error

/head.asp, line 30

I can't quite work out the problem. To start off with the site was generating this error after 2 hours, but i then changed the script timeout to only 60 seconds, that seemed to work but after 5 hours the error came back. I dont understand it at all.

I would also like to point out, that if i wait for say 5 minutes, and try the site again, it will work, but if i click on another page it comes up with that error. The only thing i can think of it being is something to do with either the script timout settings, or the session settings.. The funny thing is, that other asp sites are not comming up with this error, even when this site gets it.. Does anyone know what it is. and can anyone tell me what to do..

I am about tonight to change the mother board, and chip to a higher one, to see if that will solve it.. but i dont understand it

P.S i am running a windows 2000 advanced server, with asp scripting, php scripting, FPSE, cold fusion, and many other language abilities

Look forward to your responses

you may have done this already, but try going to

and type in 80004005 in the search box, there are lots of hits.

ok i have been to where you stated, and it says somehting about the error being to do with

50 or more output parameters cause the error for microsoft OLE DB provider for Oracle

HOWEVER
i dont use oracle, the database is an access database

would this be the same thing or something... i dont understand it, the page does not display 50 records at once, only one record at a time.. help?///

what's on line 30 in head.asp ? Rob Mills

Hi. Line 29 and line 30 enclosed

29..Set con = server.Createobject( "ADODB.Connection" )
30..Con.Open( "DRIVER={Microsoft Access driver (*.mdb)}; DBQ=" & server.MapPath("----" ) )

note the - is actually a database, i have just removed it for security reasons...

Also note that this error is not constant, one time it can be their next time its gone... help anyone.

could it have anything to do with connections, and to your last question, yes, it is a pentium class server 800mhz and is only hosting a few sites at the moment, this being the biggest

ok i have just recieved a report from another part of this forum system,. that i posted on, that seems to have come up with an answer, i am going to test it out tongight, if it works then i will post the results on this forum for all to view... Thanks for your help, I MAY BE BACK yet, feel free to keep comming up with ideas

thanks

Are you closing the database connections after every use. If not then this could be the problem.
